We are proud to announce that Cheryl graduated from her BA Psychology course at the University of Cebu on June 29, 2023. This culminates her streak of successful moves after bagging 4 medals (2 Golds, 1 silver, and 2 Bronze) of the recent 12th ASEAN ParaGames held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on June 3 – 9, 2023. You are indeed the epitome of grit, discipline, and faith.

The Power of Relief | Food Relief for the Fire Victims of Sapangdaku Cebu City

A fire in the afternoon of March 14 in Barangay Sapangdaku in Cebu City, which burned 60 homes, forced 150 people to flee their homes. “Mr. Abegael Ladrazo, the eldest son of the present Brgy. Captain, shared— “On March 18, 2023, Rise Above Foundation Cebu personally visited the area to help the fire victims. They held a feeding program on-site, feeding hundreds of kids, the elderly, and other residents. To my surprise, 5 kilograms of rice was also distributed.”

It is a proud moment for Rise Above Foundation Cebu (RAFC) to share that our inspiring scholar, Cheryl Angot, reigned supreme in the extremely difficult Asian Online Chess Championships for Players with Disabilities. Cheryl, 26, won Gold under the Physically Impaired Women division held last May 27-29, 2022. The Philippine Para Chess Team did a triple-gold harvest in this international chess competition.
