In 2012, the first building was built. It has a kitchen, computer classroom, dental clinic and bathrooms. This is the place where we conduct many of our “feedings”, run the ALS program and conduct Dental Missions.
In 2015 we completed building the Children’s Library, and it’s giving the children from nearby slums the opportunity to learn through the hundreds of books as well as having fun through different activities and play.

Reading books is fun and the kids are so happy for this opportunity.
The new Children’s library gives children from the slums a place to learn, and volunteers can live in comfortable rooms upstairs.
A Canadian volunteer foundation called “Developing World Connections“, requested a partnership with us. Their specialty is to initiate sustainable projects through long term partnerships with local communities in developing countries. They believe in the slogan: “Give a man a fish and he will be hungry again tomorrow: teach him to fish and he will be able to feed himself for the rest of his life!”
Their continual help by sending volunteers and money to build, made it possible for us to complete the Rise Above Community Center.
RAFI answered positively twice to our applications regarding the building of our Center for Women and Children and the Children’s Library and donated 70% of the building cost. We are very grateful for these generous donations toward our project.

To raise the remaining 30% of the building cost, we contacted friends in the construction business, and they donated wood, paint, reinforcing iron bars, doors, windows, tiles, toilets and sinks. Timex Philippines generously donated the building of the clinic. The Rise Above Community Center is a project that came together through these friends’ desire to help poor communities rise above poverty, and had the faith that we at the Rise Above will help make this vision a reality. We contacted also foundations abroad, and are so thankful for their generous support!
