Two is better than one seems to be Jane Montalvo’s life story. After all, she has two mothers who fill her life with so much love.
Yes, Jane has two mothers: a biological mother and a stepmother.
Jane is living with her father and stepmother while her biological mother lives just a house away.
Jane is the eldest among six siblings; 4 of which are half brothers and sisters and one brother of same parents.
According to her story, her parents separated when she was still young. She was living with her biological mother then. In 2013, her father took her and her 11-year old sibling as he thought he can give them a better life.
Jane’s father is working in Dubai for years already. She is now under the care of her stepmother and grandmother in his father’s household.
Her stepmother is a housewife while her grandmother sells fruits. Her biological mother has a small scale business from time to time. Jane’s father has been supporting her and her sibling and has indeed improved their lives.
Her situation never resulted into any major conflicts because she spends time equally on both households.
She run errands for both mothers, she bonds with them and serves them. There was never an issue between them and she appreciates it.
Jane said that she loves everybody and wishes them all well.
Rise Above Foundation sponsored Jane since she was in first grade. The Foundation is very helpful especially when her father’s remittances get delayed. Jane also said that she will pursue her studies as she stretched out that “naay edukasyon para naay kaugmaon (If there’s education, there’s future)”.
Despite her unusual set up, Jane is a happy kid and she is determined to be successful in the future.
