Beyond the relief efforts, there was a pressing need to provide sustainable help to the poorest families affected by the typhoon, including Virginia’s. Thankfully, the Developing World Connections (DWC) from Canada instantly reached out to support the home rebuilding and restoration project.

The Rise Above Education Sponsorship program has helped hundreds of students from underprivileged families through the years. Sadly due to Typhoon Rai, most are living in houses that are in shambles.
