The Softchoice team from the USA, together with the Lenovo team from Canada through the Developing World Connection facilitators, worked on a 2-week long Construction and Renovation Project at the Nano Nagele Childcare and Learning Center in Mambaling, Cebu. The local organizers from Rise Above Foundation Cebu, Flemming and Gabriel, did an amazing job getting everything prepared beforehand. This is part of Rise Above Cebu’s Construction and Renovation Program.
The 16-man (and woman) team has done a fantastic job cleaning and painting the classrooms, fixing screens and plumbing, and working together with big construction companies like DDT Konstract, Monocrete Construction, L3, Terp Asia, and the energetic Scotsman, Malcolm, in preparing the ground and cementing the 450-square meter Badjao community and activity area.
Nutritious food was also served to the children in the community.
What fantastic teamwork from this inspiring team, indeed! In such a short span of time together, we have made a difference!
